Benefits of membership

By joining the WDN , you are accessing an international community of professional drummers, teachers, academies, facilitators, students and enthusiasts. Dedicated to uniting people through rhythm.

Membership is open to all drummers, tutors, schools, students and percussionists, regardless of style, age or ability. From Electric Drum Kit to Irish Bodhran and all the shakers in-between.

Members can be in LEA music service, independent drumming academies, with mobile tutors, Drum Circles, conservatoires, or just drumming in their bedroom. Corporate membership is available to drum companies, by emailing:  info@WorldDrummingNetwork.com

Members benefit from connection to the quality standards, and integrity of the World Drumming Network, and at the WDN we benefit from connection to our members, as developers of good practice, learning opportunities and great music.  

We offer advice and information and we support our Tutor Members in the development of their courses. Members will become part of a world wide web presence, with members events visible to all our visitors on our news page.

We are constantly negotiating discounts and opportunities for our members. Visit our News and Events page and our Twitter for members offers and Master Class Events. Members details are not publicly displayed for data protection. A members directory and forum is available in the members only group area.

Registered Academy

£ 36.00 

The requirments are the same as for an individual Tutor, but is designed to cover all who teach in a Drum Academy. Registered Academies may be inspected by appointment to determine the standards as laid down in the WDA code of practice.  We ask that Tutor Members and Academies submit supporting documents as soon as possible during or after registration, to demonstrate competence. Once a school has become a member. They must agree to work within the WDA Code of Practice, pass a CRB checks (UK only) and maintain public liability insurance. As WDA exists to further the art of Drumming, we will actively support applicants to achieve the required standard for membership. When we are satisfied that you are in a position to teach professionally, we will send you the WDA Logo.  WDA Registered Drumming Academies are entitled to use the WDA logo in the following ways: You can use the logo on your website and certificates, stating that you are a WDA Registered Academy

 

Expectations of Tutors CPD

All trainers are advised to maintaining their own learning by undertaking a continual professional development. This could be through attendance on courses or at WDN networking events, writing book reviews which pick out the key points relevant to your students. Articles submitted to the WDN for use by those who are  interested in learning more from you.
